Tefsir Quran is an online service for reading and understanding the Quran: the Arabic text, translations, recitation, sourced explanations and an artificial intelligence assistant that answers your questions from these texts.
These terms govern the use of the service and the sale of the Premium subscription. The service is provided by the provider identified in the legal notice.
You accept them when you create an account. For Premium, you accept them expressly by ticking the box provided before payment: the version accepted, the date and the time are recorded as proof and repeated in the confirmation email.
These terms are available in French, Spanish, English, German and Turkish; the contract is concluded in the language you use. You can save or print them from this page, whose update date is shown at the top.
Your account
An account lets you save your progress, favourites and conversations, and use the assistant. It is personal: you give accurate information and keep your password confidential.
You must be at least 14 years old to create an account. The Premium subscription is reserved for adults; for a minor, it is taken out by their legal representative or with their authorisation.
You can delete your account at any time, without installing the app, from the page “Delete your Tefsir Quran account” (from “My account”, or at tefsirquran.com/en/delete-account without signing in): a link sent to the account’s email address confirms the request, then the account is deleted at once and for good. A running subscription, paid on the site or in Google Play, is then stopped, with no automatic refund of the current period. Without access to that address, write to the team through the site’s help or at the contact address: they first check that the request comes from the account holder.
The text, the explanations and the AI assistant
The Arabic text, translations, transliteration and recitations come from Quran Foundation and their authors, who keep their rights. Each translation is credited to its author.
The assistant is an artificial intelligence system: its answers are labelled as such (“AI assistant”), as are explanations written with the help of AI. They are aids to understanding, based on the texts provided and on well-established general knowledge; they cite their sources when they rest on those texts, and say when no verse is cited. The assistant does not invent verses, hadiths or references: when a source is not available, it says so.
The assistant gives no religious, legal, medical or financial ruling and does not replace a scholar or a professional. An answer may contain a mistake or an inaccuracy: always refer to the text and the sources cited.
Your questions can reveal your religious beliefs: the privacy policy explains how they are processed and protected.
The site’s help
The “Help” button opens a conversation with an AI assistant, separate from the Quran assistant, which answers questions about the account, the subscription and the site. On request, or when it cannot answer, your request is passed to the team, whose messages are labelled “Tefsir Quran team”.
The help assistant never decides a refund, a withdrawal, a request about your data or any payment operation: these requests are always reviewed by a person.
Questions asked in the help do not count against your Quran-assistant questions.
Use of the service
By using Tefsir Quran, you agree:
not to get around usage limits or access the service by automated means;
not to extract the site’s content in bulk;
not to use the assistant to produce unlawful, hateful or misleading content;
not to disrupt the service or the security of accounts.
In case of abuse, access may be suspended, with notice where possible; you can challenge this decision with the team.
Plans and the Quran assistant
The free plan includes 30 questions to the assistant per cycle. Premium includes the Quran assistant, for €4.99 per month or €49.99 per year, all taxes included. Both plans give exactly the same Premium, with the same limits: only how often you pay changes.
On the free plan, questions are counted per cycle: a cycle lasts one month from your first question to the assistant; they renew at the end of the cycle and unused questions do not carry over.
To protect the service against automated or abnormal use, usage and protection limits apply to every account, Premium included: one answer being prepared at a time, at most 60 answers within any one hour and, on Premium, at most 600 answers per one-month cycle, including on the yearly plan, where each month is a cycle. Beyond them, the assistant is temporarily paused: until the hour has passed for the hourly limit, and until the next cycle begins for the per-cycle limit. They are set so as not to hinder normal personal use; if they get in your way, contact support. Premium shows no question counter, but it is not unlimited.
These terms may change. Any reduction of what Premium includes is announced to you by email, clearly, at least 30 days before it applies. If it affects your access to Premium or its use negatively, more than marginally, you can terminate at no cost within 30 days of that information or, if later, of the reduction taking effect; the part of the price for the remaining period is then refunded.
Partner codes
Some Tefsir Quran creators and partners have a code. Only one partner code can be used per account. When you validate a code in your account, the account is linked to the partner concerned; in the normal operation of the service, that code cannot then be replaced by another one. This rule applies without prejudice to the rights the law gives you, or to the deletion of your account and the anonymisation of the link provided for in the privacy policy. Using a code requires a confirmed email address.
The code gives you, once, a promotional credit of extra questions to the Quran assistant. Their number is the one set for the code used at the moment you validate it; it may vary from one code to another, and a later change does not alter a credit already granted. The credit is usable for 30 days (720 hours) from the validation of the code. This credit is added to the questions of your plan, whatever the plan, and the technical limits described above still apply. Questions not used when it ends are lost. It has no monetary value and cannot be exchanged, refunded or transferred.
A code may be deactivated at any time for the future; a credit already granted is not withdrawn because of it. In case of fraudulent or abusive use, for example creating several accounts to collect credits, Tefsir Quran may revoke the link and the remaining credit; the account can then no longer use any other code.
The link is used to measure where sign-ups and subscriptions come from. The partner has no access to your questions, your conversations or your personal data (see the privacy policy).
Subscribing to Premium
You subscribe from the Premium page, signed in to your account:
the page sums up what Premium includes, its price, its term, its renewal, cancellation and your right of withdrawal;
you choose the plan: monthly, at €4.99 per month, or yearly, at €49.99 per year;
you tick two separate boxes, never ticked in advance: acceptance of these terms, and your request that Premium start immediately, during the withdrawal period;
the “Subscribe and pay — €4.99/month” or “Subscribe and pay — €49.99/year” button, depending on the plan chosen, takes you to Stripe’s secure payment page, where you check the order and can correct your details; paying on that page is an order with an obligation to pay;
after payment, Premium is activated and you receive the contract confirmation by email, with the version of the terms accepted and the information on withdrawal.
Until you have paid on Stripe’s page, no contract is concluded: you can go back at any time.
Price, payment and renewal
Premium is an automatically renewing subscription, as you choose: monthly, at €4.99 per month, or yearly, at €49.99 per year paid at once for the year, all taxes included. There is no commitment beyond the period paid: it renews automatically for a new period of the same length, on the date you subscribed, until cancelled.
You can change plan from “My account”, with “Change plan”: the change is confirmed on Stripe’s secure page and applies to the same subscription, without taking out a second one or paying twice for the same period. From monthly to yearly, the change is immediate: the unused part of the current month is deducted and the year is charged straight away; a new yearly period starts that day. From yearly to monthly, the change takes effect at the end of the year already paid; the subscription then renews every month.
Payment is by card, when you subscribe and at each renewal. It is processed by Stripe: Tefsir Quran never receives or stores your card number. You can see your payments and receipts from “Manage my subscription”.
A price change is announced at least 30 days in advance, applies only from the next renewal, and you can cancel at no cost before then.
If a payment fails, you can update your card from “Manage my subscription”; if it remains unpaid, Premium ends at the end of the current period.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time, online, from “My account”: the “Cancel subscription” link or the “Manage my subscription” button open the cancellation in a few clicks, with no reason and no fee. A subscription taken out in the Android app is cancelled in Google Play (see below).
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid: Premium stays active until then, then the account returns to the free plan, with no further charge. You receive a confirmation by email.
Cancelling stops renewals; it is not a withdrawal. Cancellation alone does not refund the current period, without prejudice to your right of withdrawal and your statutory rights.
We may end the subscription for a serious breach of these terms, after informing you; the paid and unused part of the period is then refunded.
Premium taken out in the Android app
In the Tefsir Quran Android app, Premium is sold only through Google Play’s payment system, in the same monthly and yearly plans and with the same content. The price is the one Google Play shows for your country, in its currency, all taxes included; it may differ from the site’s prices in euros. Before paying, you accept these terms and ask for Premium to start immediately by ticking two separate boxes, never ticked in advance. Payment is processed by Google Play under its own terms: Tefsir Quran receives no payment data.
The subscription is linked to the Tefsir Quran account signed in when you buy it and gives Premium on all your devices, the site included. It renews automatically at the end of each period paid until cancelled. The app does not offer Premium to an account that is already Premium, and the site does not offer a second subscription to an account subscribed through Google Play.
It is managed and cancelled in Google Play (“Payments & subscriptions”), or from the app’s Premium page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid. From the app you can also change plan: from monthly to yearly, Google Play charges the full year straight away and adds the unused value of the month already paid, converted into time; from yearly to monthly, the change takes effect at the end of the year already paid.
The 14-day right of withdrawal applies in the same way. To exercise it, inform us of your decision with the model form or any other unequivocal statement, by email or through the site’s help; the “Withdraw from contract here” function only covers the subscription paid on the site. The refund is then made by the team, through Google Play. Refund requests sent directly to Google Play follow Google Play’s rules.
Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, you can withdraw from the Premium contract without giving any reason within 14 calendar days from the day it was concluded, that is, the day you subscribed.
To exercise it, you only need to inform us of your decision before the period expires:
with the “Withdraw from contract here” function, at the bottom of every page and in “My account”: you give your name and email address, confirm, and immediately receive an acknowledgement stating the date and time of receipt;
or by sending us the model form below, or any other unequivocal statement, by email to the contact address or through the site’s help.
By ticking the box provided when you subscribed, you asked for Premium to start during the withdrawal period. If you withdraw, you only owe an amount proportionate to the service provided until you informed us of your withdrawal, compared with the whole period covered by your payment. Using Premium during the period does not make you lose your right of withdrawal.
We refund the payments received, less that amount, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after being informed of your decision, using the same means of payment and at no cost to you. The subscription ends. The refund is made by the team: it is never automatic.

Refund requests
Apart from withdrawal and the legal guarantee, you can ask for a refund, for example for a double payment or a payment problem, through the site’s help (“Refund request”) or at the contact address.
Each request is reviewed by the team under these terms; sending a request does not mean a refund is granted. No decision is taken by artificial intelligence and no refund is automatic: when one is granted, the team makes it, using the same means of payment, and you are informed.
These rules do not limit any of your statutory rights.
Conformity and availability of the service
The service is provided with the care expected of a professional, and we make reasonable efforts to keep it accessible. Its permanent availability, without any interruption or fault, cannot however be guaranteed.
The service may be interrupted, slowed down or limited, in whole or in part (for example the assistant alone, while reading remains available), in particular:
for maintenance or an update, carried out preferably at times of low use and announced in advance when it is foreseeable and expected to last;
in the event of a technical incident, or a hosting or network failure;
in the event of a failure or unavailability of a technical provider the service depends on (hosting, payment, supply of the text and recitations, artificial intelligence);
when the security of the service or of accounts requires it.
In such cases, we act diligently to restore the service as soon as possible and, where possible, inform you of the interruption and its expected duration.
An interruption or fault that affects the conformity of Premium, for example a prolonged or repeated unavailability of the assistant, gives rise to the rights under the legal guarantee described below; no clause of these terms reduces them.
You benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity of digital content and services provided by the consolidated text of the Spanish General Law for the Protection of Consumers and Users: if the service is not in conformity during the subscription, you can require it to be brought into conformity and, if that is not possible or not achieved, a price reduction or termination of the contract.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Tefsir Quran is not liable for decisions taken on the basis of an explanation or an answer from the assistant, nor for the consequences of use contrary to these terms.
Tefsir Quran is liable, under the conditions provided by law, for damage caused by a failure to meet its obligations. It is not liable for an interruption or fault due to force majeure, meaning an external event that could not be foreseen or, if foreseen, could not be avoided, nor for those due to your own conduct or to use contrary to these terms.
Nothing in these terms limits a liability that cannot be limited by law, nor the rights you have by law as a consumer.
Intellectual property
The service’s presentation, its own texts and its code are protected. You may quote an extract with its source and a link to the original page; any systematic reuse requires permission.
Your questions remain yours. You grant only the permission strictly needed to process them to answer you and keep your conversations.
Personal data
The processing of data, its purposes, legal bases, retention periods and your rights are described in the privacy policy.
Changes to the terms
These terms may be changed for a valid reason: a change in the law, in a decision of an authority or in case law; the security of the service or of accounts; a technical change of the service or its providers; the addition or improvement of a feature. The version that applies to your subscription is the one you accepted when subscribing: a new version applies to an ongoing subscription only after it has been communicated to you on a durable medium (by email), clearly and comprehensibly, with reasonable notice of at least 30 days stating what changes and from when. If you do not accept it, you can cancel at no cost before it takes effect. Where the change concerns the service itself and affects your access or its use negatively, more than marginally, you can also terminate at no cost within 30 days of that information or, if later, of the change; the part of the price for the remaining period is then refunded.
Governing law, complaints and disputes
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer living in another country of the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of your country of residence and may bring proceedings before the courts where you live.
